Judgmental vs Discerning

Be careful not to pass judgment on others. The passing of judgment and the condemnation of others belongs to God for he alone knows the whole picture. Nevertheless, we are responsible for discerning good from evil in our decision making. In choosing our life-path and our companions, we must practice discernment and choose good. Such wisdom must come from the Holy Spirit and be based on the principles and precepts of the Bible.

Judge not, that you be not judged. Matthew 7:1 (ESV)

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (ESV)

“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. Luke 6:43-44 (ESV)

What Suit Will You Wear?

Each day, Lord, I choose the "attitude suit" I will wear. Some days I put on my grump- doomsday-prophet suit; and on other days, I dress in my flaming red “angry bird” suit. This morning I found that I had worn to bed my cloudy-day pajamas; so I considered my poor-me blue suit. Nevertheless, with some reluctance, I chose to put on my it’s-a-great-day suit. And! Surprisingly it was a great day.
